【米国】そんなゲームじゃないってば！　報道メディアがよくやる間違い

1 ： あやめφ ★ ：2009/04/01(水) 18:40:23 ID:??? アメリカでは、マスコミがゲームへの無理解からとんちんかんな報道をしてしまう例が 後を絶たないが、そんななか、ゲームニュースサイト “GamesRadar”のMikel Reparaz記者は、 “ゲームを取り上げる一般メディアの悪いクセ”を、怒りと苛立ちをこめて書き綴っている。 毎日、新しい題材に取り組まなければならない一般メディアのジャーナリストたちは、 リサーチに割ける時間はかなり限られているはず。しかも、ゲームは子供向けの玩具としか 思っていないから、ゲームを有害なものと頭ごなしに決めつけ、センセーショナルな報道に 走りがちだ。中でも、以下の7つの傾向がよく見られるという。 ●『GTA IV』は「点数を稼ぐゲーム」じゃないってば！ 同作は一般メディアで「犯罪行為で点数を稼ぐゲーム」とよく紹介されるが、 本当は自由度の高いプレイを楽しむもの。 ●視点が偏っている 特にテレビのニュース番組がそう。うわべは公平中立を装いながら、ゲームと暴力事件を 結びつけようとする魂胆が見え見え。 ●アンチゲーム派を放置 アンチゲーム派の“識者”に好きなだけ自説を語らせる一方で、 反対意見の扱いは紙のように軽い。 ●ゲームの紹介があっさりしすぎ 『GTA』シリーズは“売春婦に暴力を振るい警官を殺すゲーム”、『Mass Effect』は “異星人と性交するゲーム”と、単純な行為をひたすらくり返すだけのように紹介する。 ●認識が遅れている “『バイオハザード5』は黒人差別か？”といった論争がゲーマーの間で落ち着いたあとで、 今度は一般メディアが大騒ぎを始める。 ●ありもしない話をねつ造する 「『GTA IV』ではチェーンソーで警官を真っ二つにできる」なんて言ってるけれど、 『GTA IV』からチェーンソーはなくなったのだ。スポーツや映画の報道でこんなことしたら 笑い物になるだろう。 ●「ゲームは子供向け」といまだに思い込んでいる ゲーマーはこれを一番不満に思っているはず。対象年齢がちゃんと定められているのに、 「子供にどんな影響があるのか？」という問いを必ず口にする。 Reparaz記者の推測では、こうした間違いの多くがくり返されるのは、報道関係者の多くは 現在ゲームをプレイしておらず、いまだに70～80年代初期のタイトルのイメージが頭に こびりついているからではないか、とのこと。ゲームはグラフィックだけでなく内容も大き く様変わりしていることを、理解してもらう必要があるのかもしれない。 ジーパラドットコム http://www.gpara.com/kaigainews/eanda/2009033102/

RPGの名作には、必ずその作品を[引っ張る]武器が明確に現れる物である。

[キャラクター]を全面に押し出し、感情移入を誘うのも
[自由度]を絶妙に調整し、気分を高揚を誘うのも
[システム]を入念に作り込み、コンプ欲や達成感を誘うのも、それぞれの作品の武器であり長所である。

そして、この作品の最大の武器は[世界観]である。

方々で言われている通り、このゲームは「重厚なバックグラウンド」と「多彩な選択肢とストーリー展開」を持つ「RPG+TPS」です。
日本製のキビキビ動くキャラクターや、テンポのよいストーリー展開に慣れた人には序盤は少々やり辛さを感じるかもしれません。私は洋ゲー大好きなので全く気になりませんでしたが。

正統派SFの世界がたまりません。あくまでも例えですが、
スタートレックやスターウォーズの世界に
入り込んだような感覚が味わえます。
良くここまで考えたな、と思える細かい設定や演出の良さも素晴らしい。
世界設定、ストーリー、雰囲気で魅せながらも「映像作品にすればいいじゃないか」
と思わせない会話選択肢の豊富さ、適度な自由度で遊ばせてくれます。

戦闘がTPS形式なのもスリリングでいいですね。

なかなかプレイ時間がとれず、１年ちかくかけてやっと終わりました。
いやいや面白かったです。
１年近くかけても続けられたのが私自身としては「面白い！」ということになるでしょう。
まず、世界観とゲームプレイのテンポが、近年の日本のゲームにはなかなか見られないタイプです。

なぜ日本はSteamで仲間はずれなんですか？MW2 やら GTA4 やら Mass Effect やら普通に買えないソフトが多すぎかと。理由はあるのでしょうか？

Ａ.英語できないやつばっかだから。あと、カラパゴス化してる家電PCが原因。ここ数年でやっとPCゲームが少し認知されてきたけど、それ以前はPS2とか全盛だったからね。PCゲームしらんのが普通だった。だから、一部以外はPCゲーム買う奴いなかったから、マーケットが小さい。最近は無料ゲーばっかで買う奴がまだ少ないから、今後、BTOとか自作が増えればパッケージもののよさに気がついて購入層が増えれば、半年送れくらいで仲間に入れてもらえるんじゃね？
